From Kitchen Kabaret, which was at the The Land Pavilion, 1982 - 1994, comes Mr. Dairy Goods, who was a singing milk carton who used to emerge from a refrigerator holding a microphone close to his mouth, crooning introductions to dairy products: Cheese, Yogurt and Ice Cream.
Nick waxes nostalgic about old EPCOT Center and its wonderful shows and attractions. Kitchen Kabaret was a favorite of his, so when I was at a vendor's table at the flea market looking this piece over, he nearly fainted! I had no idea what this was until he snatched it out of my hand and quickly asked how much it was. When he heard it was $10, he couldn't get his wallet out fast enough. He had a hard time keeping his hand steady as he handed over the money!
Items from Kitchen Kabaret are found few and far between apparently.
Do you remember this show, and do you have any pieces from it in your collection?
The first time I got to go to Epcot was 1996 so sadly, no Kitchen Kabaret for me. This piece is very fun, another great find.
ReplyDeleteDo you remember Food Rocks, Gaylin?
DeleteIt does ring a bell . . . a small one! I do remember nearly getting sick on Body Wars (is that the right name), a simulator ride.
DeleteYes, Body Wars at the Wonders of Life Pavilion.
DeleteWhere do you all live that you find these great Disney things?? I never see things like this.
ReplyDeleteAt the Columbus Flea Market in New Jersey Amber
