Merry Christmas... - Episode 106 of The Disney Exchange Podcast

The Disney Exchange is Lisa, Dave, and me, St. Nick. Ho ho ho!

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

First off, I'd like to thank all our listeners for their support on social media, we've had some new 5 star reviews and that means a lot to us!

We go on to talk about the recent announcement that alcohol will be served at 4 more venues, besides Be Our Guest, which has served it since it's opening, in the Magic Kingdom. The other venues are Cinderella's Royal Table, Tony's Town Square, Skipper Canteen, and Liberty Tree Tavern, thus finally making that last one a real tavern! We share our feelings and discuss the uproar on the internet.
We go on to discuss the Annual Pass Holder lines that appear to be in a test phase at Walt Disney World.

Dave has seen Rogue One: A Star Wars Story before both Lisa and me? What the...?!
Have you received the new Disney Magic Bands with the magic pucks yet? We have not! If you have, please share a picture via email or social media (links below).

We have our annual Disney Exchange Gift Exchange, and there are some, hmmmm, interesting gifts given and received.

And, as always, thank you for listening, Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas from The Disney Exchange!

Signature Dining at Walt Disney World - Episode 105 of The Disney Exchange

The Disney Exchange is Lisa, Dave, and me, Nick. Hi There!

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

We start off thanking a listener for the newest 5 star review on iTunes. Those are most appreciated because they help get us out to the masses, and everyone should have the opportunity to hear my voice. And Lisa's and Dave's too, of course.

The main topic is, as the main title indicates, Signature Dining at Walt Disney World. Restaurants that have been designated Signature Dining are 2 credits on the Disney Dining Plan.

A majority of these establishments are at resorts:

Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo House
Flying Fish at The Boardwalk
California Grille at The Contemporary
Citricos and Narcoossee's at The Grand Floridian

  Citricos
Artist Point at The Wilderness Lodge
Yachtsman at The Yacht and Beach Club

There are just a few at the parks:

Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom
Le Cellier in Epcot
Tiffins in Disney's Animal Kingdom

Tiffins

The Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney's Hollywood Studios

The Brown Derby

We also add in the dinner shows that are 2 credits on the DDP:

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness
Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at the Polynesian.

We share our thoughts on the places we've experienced, both good and bad, as well as the restaurants or shows we'd like to visit, and if we think these venues are worth 2 credits on the Dining Plan.

The Wheel of Distiny topic :  What is your favorite Disney Detail that you have to look down to see?

You can send us an email at info@thedisneyexchange and reach out with show suggestions, submit Wheel of Distiny topics, or request a listener number (remember those?) on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedisneyexchange, Twitter: https://twitter.com/disneyexchange

Thank you for listening to The Disney Exchange!

Fun With Fours - Episode 104 of The Disney Exchange Podcast

The Disney Exchange is Lisa (The Brains), Dave (The Tech) and me Nick (The Talent and the Beauty).

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

We begin by discussing the new Express Transportation service at Walt Disney World.
You can hear the 3 of us talk more about transportation on Episode 2 and 102.

Star Wars will be featured at Disney's Hollywood Studios big time in December.

Our main topic is based on something that seemed to go around social media for about 5 minutes called FUN WITH FOURS, in which friends or groups asked your favorite, you guessed it, four things on a multitude of subjects. Since we are nothing if not right on top of the latest crazes, we share ours on the following: (Note, I've added a blank so you can print it out and play along, cause, yea, I believe THAT will happen).

Our Wheel of Distiny Topic: Are you looking forward to Star Wars: Rogue One?!

Finally, we got some nice emails from listeners (and, yes, I confess, one was family) and we want to say thank you!

You can send us an email and tell me how great I am us how great we are, or just say hi at info@thedisneyexchange and reach out with show suggestions, submit Wheel of Distiny topics, or request a listener number (which was a thing for about 5 minutes, just like Fun With Fours) on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedisneyexchange, Twitter: https://twitter.com/disneyexchange

And if you are so inclined, a 5 star review on iTunes would go a long way towards getting our show out to the masses!

Disney Gift Guide - Episode 103 of The Disney Exchange Podcast

The Disney Exchange is Lisa, Dave and me, Nick

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

This week we share our Disney Holiday shopping suggestions for people of all ages.

The criteria was that everything be available online, and we take a look at obvious sites such as the Disney Store and Target, but also other sites such as Etsy and Redbubble

The Wheel of Distiny topic: Have you ever been to a non Disney Park Disney attraction or historical site? No Dave, Disney Springs doesn't count.

You can make show suggestions, submit Wheel of Distiny topics, request a listener number, or just say hello on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedisneyexchange, Twitter: https://twitter.com/disneyexchange  or email us at: info@thedisneyexchange

And if you are so inclined, a 5 start review on iTunes would go a long way towards getting our show out to the masses!

Transportation at Walt Disney World Redux- Episode 102 of The Disney Exchange

The Disney Exchange is Lisa, Dave and me, Nick

Podcast: Play in new window | Download

We start off talking about all the news that came out recently about Pandora, (the Avatar planet, not the jewelry store or internet music service streaming ), at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Star Wars Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios, new Magic Pucks Bands, as well as a few other items.

We revisit transportation at Walt Disney World, first discussed here way back on Episode 2,  including Magical Express, boats, buses the Monorail and traveling resort to resort, park to park, and the new Disney Springs parking/bus area.

We discuss the bus monitors popping up around various resorts as well.

The Wheel of Distiny topic: Favorite 101 Dalmation.

If you have a show suggestion, a wheel topic (and believe me, we can use them, as evidenced in this week's selection), want to say hi, or just tell me how much you appreciate my wit, you can interact with us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedisneyexchange, Twitter: https://twitter.com/disneyexchange  or email us at: info@thedisneyexchange

We'd also be super psyched if you gave us a 5 start review on iTunes, which would go a long way towards getting our show out to the masses!

Thank you for listening to The Disney Exchange!

Star Wars Smugglers Bounty; I Can't Say Goodbye

By Nick

I joined Funko Pop Star Wars Smuggler's Bounty at the very start.

Each box comes with a Pop vinyl(s), apparel, accessories, collectibles and more, all exclusive and a $50 value!

There are 2 types of memberships available.

1) Pirate is the recurring monthly plan which ships one box every other month, with the option to cancel anytime. This option is $25.

I went with 2) the annual plan, which is $150, and includes an exclusive gift on the anniversary of membership.

I was very happy with the first 2 shipments, the 1st being The Force Awakens themed, the 2nd, The Resistance, but I wasn't as excited with the 3rd set, The Cantina, and was also underwhelmed by the next 2 sets, Bounty Hunters and Jabba's Palace.

I was on the fence as to whether or not to renew. Until I got my latest shipment, The Death Star, and I was pulled back in! I was happy with everything in this assortment:

Darth Vader patch and Stormtrooper pin:

 Awesome tee shirt:

A Death Star luggage tag. I will not be using that on checked luggage however, but will take it carry on.

The 2 Pop figures are Grand Moff Tarkin, who I have gained a new appreciation for after reading the novel, appropriately titled Tarkin, and Darth Vader.

Because I have the annual plan I am eligible for a free exclusive Smuggler's Bounty gift. I received an email a couple of weeks ago saying that there had been a production setback on this gift, and it would not be delivered until March, and that they would be sending another free gift, a mass produced, but vaulted figure.

A couple of days later I was pleasantly surprised to receive this great figure of a Jawa!

This is a wonderful reminder of the friendship I've developed over the last couple of years at Disney's Hollywood Studios!
