Do You Remember: The Character Driven Epcot Rope Drop?

Do you remember when you were allowed to enter Epcot at about 8:45am, and then held until 9:00am, when Mickey Mouse and the gang would come out and greet the crowd?

Now entry begins at 8:45am, but instead of being stopped, you proceed directly to your destination. It certainly seems smoother, but lacks the charm of these greetings.

Which do you prefer?

  2. I miss this kind of rope drop too. It seemed much more magical to see all the characters as soon as one would enter the parks in the morning!

  3. I miss this rope drop. I think all the parks should have a Special Show for those who managed to get up and out in time to open the park.

  4. Yes. Love the old rope drop at EPCOT. There was even a time when I have my nephews drag them to EPCOT that early so they can play hulahop with Goofy and Pluto. To this day they still talk about it and how now rope drop is just boring.
