Walt Disney World Towel Animals

by Gaylin

In May of 2008 I went on a solo trip to Walt Disney World, it was my first time going solo and my first time staying on property. I was staying at Pop Century and when I checked into my room, this little guy was waiting for me. While I was thrilled to find my first towel animal, sadly, he was my only towel animal of my entire stay.

I was fortunate to go on a second trip in 2008, in October with a friend. We stayed at All Star Movies and during our stay we were graced with these five towel animals.

Then in 2010, back at Pop Century, we had a few of them but this one was the best because wow, a chicken hanging from a light shade!

We also found this highly decorated puppy, ready for the towel animal awards show . . .

Back at the Pop again in 2011, we only found this 'thing' in our room one evening. I have no idea what it was supposed to be, any guesses?

When I went to WDW in November of 2012, I had a great solo trip, only marred by the complete lack of towel animals. Zero, none, nada - so sad but of course I didn't let it tarnish my vacation!
Do you have any favourite towel animals? Do you take photos of them?

  1. I thought that was a monkey hanging from your hanger, Gaylin! I like it more now knowing that you believe it's a chicken!!

  2. Yeah, I think that's the elusive chicken-monkey too! And the last one might be a fish???

    1. Chicken-monkeys, could be real . . . Maybe that last one is supposed to represent a rubber ducky?

    1. I was very sad when I took the 'chicken' down from the lamp cover and the head fell off and rolled across the floor!
