Do You Remember: The Spaceship Earth Magic Wand?
To celebrate the new Millennium, Epcot installed a large "Magic Wand" next to Spaceship Earth, with a large "2000" over the top. I didn't get to see this, but in 2001, the "2000" was replaced with "Epcot".
From the moment I saw this on our first trip to Walt Disney World together in September of 2006, I was not a fan.

I didn't mind the wand. It made for good photo ops. I also don't mind that it is gone. I look at WDW as ever changing, a friend I traveled with had only seen Spaceship Earth with the wand so when we went on another trip and it was gone - he was very upset . . .
ReplyDeleteI agree with Gaylin. Some changes may not always be for the best, but I applaud Disney's willingness to continue to try to live up to Walt's dream of an ever-changing Park environment! That said, I like it better without.
