Flea Market Find: Disney World Millennium Ornament

I spotted this great Walt Disney World glass ornament from the Millennial Celebration at the flea market the other day for $3.00, and snatched it right up.

I really find it interesting, and appreciate, that Spaceship Earth is the focal point instead of Cinderella Castle.

Do You Remember: The Spaceship Earth Magic Wand?

To celebrate the new Millennium, Epcot installed a large "Magic Wand" next to Spaceship Earth, with a large "2000" over the top. I didn't get to see this, but in 2001, the "2000" was replaced with "Epcot".

From the moment I saw this on our first trip to Walt Disney World together in September of 2006, I was not a fan.

Thankfully, the wand was removed in 2007, and the simplistic beauty of the sphere has returned.
