Episode 66 of The Disney Exhange: Planning a Solo Trip to Walt Disney World

By Nick

Play

The Disney Exchange is David Hodges, Lisa Green and me, Nicholas Maglio

Me at Disney's Animal Kingdom on my first solo trip.

The show starts with a discussion on what constitutes an unlucky number, we acknowledge listener 25, and Dave shares all sorts of interesting facts about the number 26.

We almost drop Episode #13, due to the whole unlucky number thing, but can't do that to our good friend Heather, co-host of The Disney Duo podcast.

There is a rumor that Disney wants to add a $15 per night for resort stays at Walt Disney World, and we question who would say that they would be okay with that on a survey?

Applesauce.

Premium parking at Walt Disney World is $35 at the Magic Kingdom. Will you pay it?

I thank Lisa for the nice gift she brought Dave and I when we met up during the Princess Half Marathon Weekend.

Purple Magic Bands!

We talk about the Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon changes plus more runDisney events are discussed. What is the proper amount of time to wear a runDisney medal? That weekend? A week later?

Honest, we do discuss our main topic, planning a solo trip to Walt Disney World, which was listener submitted. Please send us your show requests, we will actually address it!
Our suggestions skip around, and include recommending doing things which interest you, that perhaps your normal traveling companion or party would not enjoy, such as, for me, going to lounges because my wife doesn't drink much. It's all about you!

The Tune-In Lounge at 50's Prime Time Cafe,
 in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

We talk about various eateries that a solo traveler might feel conspicuous in, as well as good places for lone diners.

My very short Tusker House story somehow turns into a very long discussion.

All single rider lines are not the same. We recommend avoiding the single rider line at Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

We share some FastPass strategies, such as using a FastPass selection for Wishes at the Magic Kingdom.

Pool and hot tub solo? Weird or no?

Speedos. Yay or nay?

Telling total strangers that they have beautiful eyes? Odd or normal?

Spend time at your resort. Most Disney resorts are a destination in and of themselves.

The Wheel of Distiny : If you had $1000 extra to spend at Walt Disney World, what would you spend it on?
