Disney "Sewing For Cinderelly" Limited Quantity Hallmark Ornament

I bought this "Limited Quantity" ornament titled "Sewing For Cinderelly" during the 2013 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Premiere Weekend back in July.

Gus and Jaq are maybe my favorite part of Cinderella.

I see more than a bit of myself in Gus Gus!

They have helped create a masterpiece for Cinderella.

Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox D23 Vinylmations

When I was a kid in the 1970's my favorite show was, not surprisingly, The Wonderful World of Disney. I have distinct memories of seeing certain cartoons, such as "In the Bag", featuring Humphrey the Bear, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" from "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad", "Casey at the Bat", from "Make Mine Music", and "Paul Bunyan" an animated short released in 1958.
I have a few Humphrey the Bear items in my collection, but had nothing from the other 3 cartoons listed above, until just recently.
I won this 2013 D23 Expo Paul Bunyan Vinylmation set on Ebay.

It's a limited edition of 1000. It originally sold for $29.99, so I was pretty happy to get it for $33, including shipping!

Paul Bunyan is discovered washed ashore a small Maine town after a storm. Paul is adopted and raised by the town. It takes a village to raise the boy because he is a giant. Paul grows, and discovers his true calling as a lumberjack. As he grows, the town grows with him, and he decides to move west to wide open spaces. Wide open spaces that he himself clears with his prodigious strength and ax.

 The only complaint I have about this figure is that Paul should have a double-blade axe, 

which is a prominent plot point.

On his travels he encounters and saves the life of a Big Blue Ox, and Paul names him Babe.

As they cross the country, they create many of the topographical features we enjoy today, such as the Grand Teton Mountain Range and Pikes Peak.
Things are going wonderfully, with Paul the king of lumberjacks, until he comes upon a slick salesman and his steam saw and steam locomotive.
I won't give away the ending, but Paul and Babe stick together through thick and thin, eventually winding up in Alaska.

It is a terrific cartoon, with a wonderful song that narrates and drives the story, and very stylized animation. Paul is voiced by Thurl Ravencroft, who is most well known as the voice of Tony the Tiger. Thurl did many voices for Disney throughout his long carrier, for both animated productions and theme park attractions.
 Paul Bunyan can be found on Disney's American Legends DVD set, the Walt Disney Treasures, Disney Rarities DVD set, and on YouTube.

Walt Disney Classics Collection Limited Edition Stitch

Summer arrives in the Northern Hemisphere today.
This Walt Disney Classics Collection Stitch was the 2006 Spring Premiere Event limited edition sculpture. But to me, it says "Summer" rather than Spring.

"Greetings From Paradise" measures 4 1/2 inches high.

What do you think Stitch has in his coconut?

That is one awesome shirt he's sporting!

Limited to 4000. 

The production mark for 1996 is the Trowel, in honor of Practical Pig in the Academy Award winning 1933 cartoon, 'The Three Little Pigs'.

Mickey Mouse Brave Little Tailor Clock

Brave Little Tailor Tuesday!

On the last couple Tuesdays I discussed 2 items I bought way back in 1996 from the Official Disneyana Convention, a mug and a hat. Today I'd like to share a resin clock I purchased on eBay, also from the convention.

Mickey as the Brave Little Tailor measures 5 1/4 inches high from the bottom of the base to the tip of his feather.

The clock battery has expired, and needs to be replaced.

Like the mug, this clock is limited to 2000 pieces.

I also have an ornament from the convention, which I originally purchased in 1996, which I will share in a future post.

Mickey Mouse Brave Little Tailor Gold Trading Card

Brave Little Tailor Tuesday!
When I first found this case inside a box in my garage, I had no idea what it was. Authentic Images?

Flipping it over helped a bit. But I still wasn't sure what I was going to find inside.

A gold trading card?!

 

 

Why did I buy this? Well, I love Brave Little Tailor. And it's a pretty limited piece. Only 1000!

What did I pay for this? No idea. But it's 24K Gold, according to the Certificate of Authenticity! Wow!

Where did I buy it? I could assume it came from the 1996 Official Disneyana Convention, which featured the Brave Little Tailor. I have many items from this convention, picked up from eBay (sadly I wasn't there!) through the years. But, there is no indication that it was part of that event. Maybe in 1998? In the image above, in the lower left hand corner, you can see, printed, DIS-2-98.

Regardless of why, where, and when, I'll be hanging on to it. Stop back in the future to see what else I might pull out of that garage!
