Disney Pins From the Disney Wonder, Circa 2012

Back in 2012, we took a cruise to Alaska on the Disney Wonder
We bought a few pins.
There was one representing each port, dated 2012, and I was tempted to buy them all, but at $12.95 each, I resisted the urge, and stuck to characters that my wife and I collect.

For example Pluto, who represented Juneau, mushing along with Mickey in the sled.

 

Here’s Minnie, getting a picture of Mickey in front of the Seattle skyline.

 

Here’s a picture of my wife Barbie with the Seattle skyline in the background, as the ship departed the Port of Seattle.

Here we have Stitch representing Victoria. While we stopped in Victoria, we didn’t get off the Wonder, as there was only a couple of hours in port.

Finally, there’s this pin of Minnie, not representing a port, but the entire Summer 2012 Alaskan Cruise Season.

 These pins are a Limited Edition of 1000.

The only other item I bought was this t-shirt, which lists the ports we were in.

Disney Pin Blanket

Since I have posted on social media about the blanket I use to display my Disney pin collection, I realized it is about time I post it here.

The stores at Walt Disney World often have a promotional item, buy X amount of product and the promotional item is offered at a really reasonable price. This blanket was one of the promotional items during a trip, I think in 2007. When I saw it, I realized I could use it to hold my pins.

I brought it home and sewed a curtain sleeve at the top, bought a curtain rod and voila, a great way to put them on display and a great way to have easy access to them when I want to wear a pin.

When I first started using this, I had way less pins, I told myself I would stop buying pins when the outside edges were filled up . . . we all know how that went. At the rate I buy pins, I may need to buy a stronger curtain rod because this blanket is getting heavy!

I am glad I saved my Extra Magic Hours bands, as well as the Not So Scary and Christmas party bands, they make a fun addition to the blanket. I use the ends of the rod to hang lanyards so all my Disney pin accessories are in one place.

This corner of my blanket has all my tour pins attached to it, I never wear them since they would be hard to replace.

Anyone have anything like this? How to you store your pins? Do you wear them or just buy them for display?

Figment is Going to Walt Disney World!

Figment has his bags packed, and, not surprisingly, he's heading to Walt Disney World, and more specifically, Epcot.

Instead of an ID, credit cards, and photos of Dreamfinder, Figment's wallet seems to contain, well, his name. Which, I suppose, makes that his ID.

This large resin Figment was a gift from my wife. She won't divulge the price, but says she got a good deal on eBay, not anywhere near the original price of $95, from The Art of Disney shop, in Downtown Disney.

At 9 inches tall, and 7 wide, this is a hefty piece.

But back to Figment and his trip to Disney World. What do you suppose he has packed in those bags? 

Well, let's take a look in the one on the ground there.

Hmm, looks like a shirt.

 

It is indeed a shirt. A Figment shirt!

Actually, it's a Figment shirt, resin pin.

Tomorrow we are also heading to Walt Disney World,  and I'm sure we'll see Figment there!
And, yes, I packed a Figment shirt too!
