Attention All Earthlings, This is Sonny Eclipse

By Nick

On almost every trip to Walt Disney World we have at least one meal at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom.

To be honest, there are several quick service eateries in the Magic Kingdom with better food, in our opinion.

So what brings us back time and again?
The "live" entertainment in the form of Sonny Eclipse.

Sonny, "The Biggest Little Star in the Galaxy" can be found daily in the Starlight Lounge at Cosmic Ray's.

He can be found there nightly too! In fact, it seems like the guy never leaves!

That is probably because Sonny is an audio-animatronic alien who has come all the way from his hometown of Yew Nork City on the planet Zork to entertain us on his Astro Organ, which sometimes plays all on it's own. He is accompanied by a group of invisible background singers, The Space Angels.

Sonny tells jokes in between his eclectic mix of song selections, which include such intergalactic classics as "Planetary Boogie" and "Gravity", which are entertaining and educational. The entire show is on a loop which lasts about 25 minutes.

Below is just a little introduction to Sonny.

If you are in Tomorrowland, stop in to Cosmic Ray's and check out Sonny's show. You may just wind up singing "Yew Nork, Yew Nork" the rest of the day instead of "Small World."

Audio/ Video: Dinosuar at Disney's Animal Kingdom

By: Nick

As discussed in a past post by my wife, Barbie, we love Dinosaur at Disney's Animal Kingdom. On our last trip, I took video of the pre-show film, and tried to get video of the actual ride, but, that is pretty dark, and it's impossible to see any imagery, but if you are as familiar with the ride as we are, the audio is enough to bring back memories of a journey back to the age of the dinosaurs.

Arriving at Walt Disney World

By: Nick

With our next trip to Walt Disney World several months away, I'm getting "home sick" and really wish I was seeing this sight:

This is entering Walt Disney World property via Disney's Magical Express. What's NOT to love?

Video: Five and Dime at Disney California Adventure

Five and Dime is a group at Disney California Adventure that performs several times daily on Buena Vista Street. It consists of five musicians and one singer, "Dime".
On our first viewing of this fun little show, we walked up as Goofy was joining them for a song.

There is some audience participation, as "Dime" may pull an audience member into the show to sing "I Wanna Be Loved By You" to.

An audience member like me.

The View From Our Room at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian

By: Nick

Yesterday we checked out of what is now my favorite DVC Resort, The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian.

Our room, 1204, which is on the 2nd floor, overlooked the Seven Seas Lagoon towards the Polynesian resort, and Ticket and Transportation Center.

Late afternoon.

Sunrise.

The section of the Villas where our room was located in the building to the right,
seen from a boat.

Me, waving from our balcony.

I posted the photo below of the ferry as seen from our bed on Facebook, and our friend Matthew suggested I tape an hours worth of the calming scene, so that people could share in the relaxing view.

This isn't quite an hour, in fact, it's about 8 minutes, but I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Video: Mater's Junkyard Jamboree

The first attraction we rode in Cars Land was Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, and it was one of our favorites. We loved the music so much, it prompted us to buy the Music of Cars Land CD.

Check out yesterday's post for the story behind my Mater Teeth.

Lunch at Flo's V8 Cafe

During our trip to the Disneyland Resort in February of this year, the first place we stopped after checking into our resort was the new Cars Land in Disney California Adventure. It was overwhelming! I didn't know where to begin. So, as it was around Noon, we began with lunch at Flo's V8 Cafe. The food was so good, we would eat there several times over the next few days. Here is video I took on that first visit.

As you saw in the video, Flo was part of a singing group, the Motorama Girls. They stopped in Radiator Springs, and Flo fell in love with Ramone. When the rest of the Girls left, Flo stayed behind.

Romantic, huh?

Please stop back soon for a full review of Flo's.

Radiator Springs Racers Video Ride Through

What can be said about one of the best rides ever to come out of Disney Imagineering, the new Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land, Disney California Adventure?

Spoiler Alert! This is a ride through of the whole attraction, so if you want to be surprised, don't watch!
