New Members of the Family
The Best Disney Husband in the World surprised me with these wonderful anniversary gifts. Now, if you know him, he loves to say things like, "No gifts this year, right?" This happens on many holiday and special occasions. He traps the one he's speaking to into a false sense of security. I fall for it every time!
I love Lilo and Stitch and collect any pin I can find with their likeness on it. I have always loved these WDCC figures, but they were always something I would just put out of my mind, due to their cost.
So, the Best Disney Husband knew I wanted these ever since they came out in 2003. Sometimes one can get great deals on Ebay for Disney items, one just has to be patient, and patient he was! If you are ever looking for something in particular and can't pay full price, try Ebay or Craig's List. You would be surprised how many cool Disney items are for sale through these sites, and many more. Have you ever tried Goodwill online? They are an auction style site and if you type in Disney, some interesting things pop up! Good hunting to all of you looking for that wonderful piece you just have to have.

Meeko
Meeko is the big raccoon from the movie Pocahontas. He loves to eat snacks, and who doesn't? I'm thinking of hobnobs and cheese curls right now! Thank goodness we don't have either in the house.
In the film Pocahontas, Meeko is Pocahontas' sidekick and hangs out with her for the whole movie, as comic relief and begging for food. The little hummingbird is named Flit.

Pocahontas
What I love most about rivers is
You can't step in the same river twice
The water's always changing, always flowing
But people, I guess, can't live like that
We all must pay a price
To be safe, we lose our chance of ever knowing
What's around the riverbend
Waiting just around the riverbend...
The water's always changing, always flowing
But people, I guess, can't live like that
We all must pay a price
To be safe, we lose our chance of ever knowing
What's around the riverbend
Waiting just around the riverbend...
While photographing this little statue for the "Husband who Loves to Blog," I started dreaming about this song and I haven't been able to get it out of my mind for the past couple of days.
The figurine really made me wonder about how to photograph it properly, as if one were peering in on another's private moment. It made me dream about the lives it represents. Isn't that perhaps the main reason most of us love to collect in the first place?

And really, who doesn't want their own raccoon as a pet?

Who Loves Hunny?
We do! Every smart bear knows that honey is awesome! Every batch has a unique set of flavors: floral, fruity, dark, heavy, light and springy...Pooh and I could wax poetic about the flavors of honey. But did you know that honey has other amazing properties as well?
Honey is a great source of antioxidants, and everyone needs those in their diets! Antioxidants prevent free radicals from doing damage in your body. The darker honeys possess more antioxidants, such as Pine-Barren and Buckwheat honeys.
Honey is antibacterial! The antimicrobial agent in honey that keeps bacteria from growing in it makes it useful for treating wounds, cuts and abrasions. Cover your cut in honey to prevent bacteria from entering the wound and to promote healing; another plus to honey, it prevents scarring and promotes the growth of new tissue! Mmm, Pooh is wondering why don't doctors use honey? Ahh, more for him!
Honey is hygroscopic, which means it attracts water. It absorbs moisture from the air. So...if you like to spread honey on your skin or face, yum yum, it will keep you looking young and fresh. Use it on your hair or fur to keep your tresses looking glossy and healthy.
Just take a look at Pooh. Healthy, happy and enjoying a diet of nature's finest!
