Star Wars Smugglers Bounty; I Can't Say Goodbye

I joined Funko Pop Star Wars Smuggler's Bounty at the very start.

Each box comes with a Pop vinyl(s), apparel, accessories, collectibles and more, all exclusive and a $50 value!

There are 2 types of memberships available.

1) Pirate is the recurring monthly plan which ships one box every other month, with the option to cancel anytime. This option is $25.

I went with 2) the annual plan, which is $150, and includes an exclusive gift on the anniversary of membership.

I was very happy with the first 2 shipments, the 1st being The Force Awakens themed, the 2nd, The Resistance, but I wasn't as excited with the 3rd set, The Cantina, and was also underwhelmed by the next 2 sets, Bounty Hunters and Jabba's Palace.

I was on the fence as to whether or not to renew. Until I got my latest shipment, The Death Star, and I was pulled back in! I was happy with everything in this assortment:

 Awesome tee shirt: 

A Death Star luggage tag. I will not be using that on checked luggage however, but will take it carry on.

The 2 Pop figures are Grand Moff Tarkin, who I have gained a new appreciation for after reading the novel, appropriately titled Tarkin, and Darth Vader.

Because I have the annual plan I am eligible for a free exclusive Smuggler's Bounty gift. I received an email a couple of weeks ago saying that there had been a production setback on this gift, and it would not be delivered until March, and that they would be sending another free gift, a mass produced, but vaulted figure.

A couple of days later I was pleasantly surprised to receive this great figure of a Jawa!

 

This is a wonderful reminder of the friendship I've developed over the last couple of years at Disney's Hollywood Studios!

Star Wars Smuggler's Bounty : The Cantina

Well, you can't win them all.

After being pleased with my first share of Funko Pop Star Wars Smuggler's Bounty and very happy with the second shipment, I was underwhelmed by the latest collection themed around The Cantina from Star Wars: A New Hope.

I had been very excited when I'd initially heard this was to be the next shipment, envisioning Han and Greedo pop figures perhaps! And what awesome tee shirt would there be?!

When my booty arrived, I quickly opened it to find this Greedo patch and a Figrin D'an pin. I sold the patch on eBay and kept the pin.

Then there is the tee shirt. Yea, I don't care for it. As of this writing, this still has not sold in eBay. I'm not overly surprised.

Ponda Baba is the alien that had his arm severed by Obi Wan Kenobi for getting crabby with Luke. I don't think it's a great likeness.

Speaking of Obi Wan, "Ben" Kenobi, he is one of the exclusive Pop figures included.

Red Snaggletooth...I don't particularly have an interest. I sold him. Surprisingly, he was bought moments after being listed!

Ben, I was very happy to keep!

The final item, a Chewbacca pen, I'm also keeping.

So, a mixed bag for sure. Next up, Bounty Hunters!

Star Wars Smuggler's Bounty : The Resistance

A few months ago I signed up for the Star Wars mystery box offered by Funko Pop and Lucasfilm.

Each box contains Pop vinyl, apparel, accessories, collectibles and more, all exclusive and a $50 value!

I liked my first shipment, which was themed around The First Order, but, to be honest, I'm a light side of the Force kind of guy, and I sold everything on eBay except for the Kylo Ren pin (yes, I realize he's a baddie, but I liked the pin) and the Stormtrooper tee (I tell myself it's the hero Finn under that mask).

Well, I have loved everything from my latest shipment, themed around The Resistance, and I'm keeping all of it!


There is this awesome BB-8 patch! I plan on buying a nice black polo shirt to put this on.

A pin featuring Poe Dameron.

A C-3PO mug.

The mug's red handle has to be a reference to 3PO's temporary replacement arm from The Force Awakens!

An awesome tee shirt featuring Chewbacca, Han Solo, BB-8, Finn, Poe and Rey. And, oh yea, the Millennium Falcon.

And, last but not least, a Chewie Pop Bobble Head! All this for $25!

Loving the Smuggler's Bounty, it's like Christmas every other month.

Next shipment is going to be themed after the Star Wars Cantina! Can't wait!

My bounty arrived yesterday!

Upon opening the box, a pin and a patch, with a welcome message;

I opened the flap to find a lanyard, tee shirt, and 2 Pop figures.

Apparently there is a variant Tie Fighter Pilot!

I'll likely put the lanyard and patch, and Tie Fighter Pilot on eBay. I'm wearing the shirt as I write this!
I'm holding on to Captain Phasma until after I see The Force Awakens, just in case this turns out to be a collectible I want to hold on to.

I'm very excited I decided to become a Smuggler, and I eagerly await my next bounty!
