Thumper and His Siblings : Walt Disney Classics Collection

By Nick

Today I share Classics Collection figures of Thumper and his sisters.
Thumper measures 3″ high.

Like the Flower figure, I’ve had Thumper since 1993.

.

The figure is titled “Hee! Hee! Hee!…”, because, if memory serves, Thumper finds it amusing that Bambi has referred to his young skunk friend as a flower.

I think the paint on these actually give a feeling of texture. Just beautiful.

For the first production year, 1992, the Walt Disney Classics Collection featured a steamboat wheel mark, honoring Mickey Mouse’s 1928 debut in Steamboat Willie. There is also a special Bambi 50th Anniversary mention on this piece, that the Bambi and Flower pieces I have do not carry.

Doing a Google search, I found that Thumper has 4 sisters, named Trixie, Daisy, Ria, and Tessie. But, unfortunately, there is no indication as to which 2 are portrayed here.

This was an early gift from my wife, who felt that Thumper would like to have family with him.

.

Titled “Hello, Hello There”.

.

This also has the steamboat wheel mark, indicating it was made in 1992, as well as the 50th Anniversary tag.

A couple of months ago, my friend Toria shared a post on my Facebook page announcing a new mystery box collaboration between Funko Pop and Lucasfilm called Star Wars Smuggler's Bounty.

Each box promises to contain Pop vinyl, apparel, accessories, collectibles and more, all exclusive and a $50 value!

There are 2 types of membership available.

Pirate is the recurring monthly plan which ships one box every other month, with the option to cancel anytime. This option is $25.

Smuggler is the annual plan, which is $150, and includes an exclusive gift on the anniversary of membership.

I decided to give it a try. If there are items I don't want, I will sell them on eBay, and I went with the Smuggler option for the anniversary gift.

My bounty arrived yesterday!

Upon opening the box, a pin and a patch, with a welcome message;
Behold your first share of Smuggler's Bounty

I opened the flap to find a lanyard, tee shirt, and 2 Pop figures.

Apparently there is a variant Tie Fighter Pilot!

I'll likely put the lanyard and patch, and Tie Fighter Pilot on eBay. I'm wearing the shirt as I write this!
I'm holding on to Captain Phasma until after I see The Force Awakens, just in case this turns out to be a collectible I want to hold on to.

I'm very excited I decided to become a Smuggler, and I eagerly await my next bounty!

Darth's Mall at Disney's Hollywood Studios

By Nick

I recently went to Walt Disney World with 2 friends to geek out on Star Wars Weekends at Walt Disney World.

I was looking forward to getting some Star Wars Weekends merchandise.

The place to get said goodies is Darth's Mall. Get it? Darth's Ma...

Darth's Mall is located at the back of Disney's Hollywood Studios, next to Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show.

The signage had a trading card motif.

This year, there ware 3 stores inside the Mall! 4 if you include Tusken Fridge Raiders inside Watto's Grotto!

The Prop Shop was open on our visit to Disney's Hollywood Studios on Thursday.

Here you could find toys, tee shirts and Lego items. There were lots of great Star Wars Lego creations throughout the store.

On Friday the 15th, we got to the park half an hour early, and headed directly to the Mall upon opening. The line for X-Wing Collectibles formed very quickly, and seemed to be up to over an hour wait almost immediately.

We decided to wait till later in our visit to go in, as we were hunting for more basic items as opposed to the higher end items offered there.

Next door the wait for Watto's Grotto, which has exclusive weekend and Annual Passholder merchandise, was only 5 minutes.

That evening we returned at a little after 7 and walked right into X-Wing Collectibles.

Between the various shops, I bought several tee shirts, a mug, a pint glass, a shot glass (which they call a "toothpick holder.") and this litho of Pluto dressed as my favorite Star Wars character R2-D2.

I look forward to returning to a Star Wars Weekend next year, and can't wait to see what new merchandise they'll have based on future Star Wars installments!
