I believe it was $14.95, with a $25 purchase at The World of Disney Store, in Downtown Disney. A wide selection of favorite Disney characters are illustrated here, with a few being represented in pin form.

Being Remembered: Great Disney Cast Members

This past January, while walking through the shops in Epcot's United Kingdom Pavilion in the World Showcase, we heard a very pleasant voice say "Hello again."

We turned to see Chloe, the wonderful Cast Member who had assisted us several months previously when purchasing a set of Epcot's Thirtieth Anniversary Mystery Pins.

To be remembered is pretty awesome, especially when you consider how many thousands of guests she must have encountered in the time between these meetings, and it made us feel special! We chatted for a bit, and learned that she would be returning to her home in England shortly. Disney is lucky to have had her, and we hope she is doing well.

It's been said before, but it is experiences like this that make Disney so special.

Pins From The Walt Disney Family Museum

I picked these wonderful pins up in June when I visited The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.

My wife collects Pluto and Mickey pins, so I bought the first 2 for her.

This Pluto pin cost $13:

Mickey was $6.50.

My favorite pin of the 3, the man himself, Walt Disney, also $6.50:

Disney California Adventure Pins

I picked up these Disney California Adventure pins for $24.95 on our trip to the Disneyland Resort in February.

Let's take a look at each. We'll start with Mickey, Goofy, and Donald welcoming us to the park. I have to be honest, we never entered the park through the front entrance, so I don't even have a photo of it! We always entered through the Grand Californian entrance.

Then we have Mickey pointing us towards the Carthay Circle Theater, home of the Carthay Circle Restaurant.

We had the pleasure of eating dinner here, and it was wonderful.

 

Next we have Buena Vista Street, named after the thoroughfare where the Disney Studios are located.

 

And how do you get there? Well, you can walk, but wouldn't you rather take a Red Car Trolley like Mickey Mouse does?

Disney's Pin Traders in Downtown Disney

Disney's Pin Traders shop is located in Downtown Disney. In my opinion, it is the flagship pin store at Walt Disney World.

Obviously, you're going to find pins. Most of the pins you can find through all of Walt Disney World can be found here in one convenient stop.

 

A couple displays I really like. Pin-occhio. Very punny.

This display explains how to trade pins. We love the pins on the clock where the numbers would be, and are going to be actively searching for cool old clocks at the flea market to do this. I will be sure to share when we do.

There is also a very large assortment of Vinylmation.

Last, but not least, there are a couple of nice statuettes for photo ops here with Mickey and Minnie,...

Monsters U. Pin Promo at the Disney Store

The Disney Store is having a special offer right now as a promotion for the upcoming Monsters University. Buy any Monsters Inc. merchandise and get your choice of two pins for $5.00. I chose "George Sanderson," the monster who was contaminated by a human's sock. The cat you see in the background, he can't get enough of human socks, he hoards them, in fact. Watch out George!

 

 These two will probably work together to take over and create their very own sock empire. The cat has already been eying up George's sock! 

Look at that adorable sock! George doesn't even know it's there! Shh! Don't tell him, it will probably freak him out! Below is the pin that Nick picked out. Each week, a different Monster Fraternity or Sorority pin is being released. That is a great promotion. They also threw in a couple buttons.

Epcot's 30th Anniversary Mystery Pins

On October 1, 2012, Epcot celebrated its 30th Anniversary. Disney released lots of great merchandise, but the items that most interested my wife and me were these mystery pins. For one, they all feature our favorite purple dragon, Figment. Plus, they feature classic Epcot symbols AND some popular characters, such as Mickey Mouse, and the much missed Dreamfinder.

I bought this pack at the pin cart in the United Kingdom Pavilion. Retro coloring on the box, gives it an appropriate 80's vibe.

There are some I like more than others, but since they all feature Figment, I'm happy! 2 pins for $13.95 isn't bad!

The wonderful Cast Member at the booth, Chloe, couldn't have been friendlier, and was happy we'd found these, the last box at her station.

I opened the box, and each pin was wrapped in a black bag, adding to the suspense! What can it be?

Chloe even had a pair of scissors to help me open the bag.

First pin out of the bag was none other than the pin I wanted most! Figment and Dreamfinder!

And the next pin was my second choice, Mickey and Figment! Mickey is even in his silver jumper with a rainbow on it!

This was one of the most memorable experiences on my trip, thanks to Chloe. A great Cast Member experience can be the most magical moment on a vacation. Thanks Chloe!
